Let me spell out the full list of Monthly Changes/promotions so y'all can get together and do one properly.
1. During the PRESENT month you put some suggestions together of what you want the next Featured Article to be, then the Admin should pick one IN ADVANCE.
2. During the same PRESENT month the winner of the last Monthly gets to decide what the next Monthly Theme should be.
3. Also, we can ask one question in the WI/HT thread, which gains a little promotion and some useful info for the wiki. I aim to do this mid-month, away from the promotion we get at the change of month.
4. As the month draws to a close, some admin, or failing that, anyone, needs to decide who has won the present month- whoever has done the most work on the present Monthly Theme, regardless of how much work has been done on other things.
The Turn of the Month
5. At the turn of the month, we need to change the Featured Article and record the FA on the FA list.
6. We also need to announce the winner of the last month on the Front Page and record that winner on the Winner's List.
7. It seems courteous to contact that winner and invite them to choose the next Theme, perhaps providing them with suggestions or a link to any dialogue on the subject.
8. We then Post on the club page, announcing the winner with any relevent comments about the theme and the work done.
9. I tend to do a seperate post announcing the new theme the following day, giving us more promotion.
10. About once a quarter, we can post the Quantcast stats on the Club Page.
I would offer to do the full promotion every month as my main task here, but if I don't watch the Recent Changes, they are not done properly ( a new NOT NOTABLE page was made last week when I was on night shift and y'all ignored it) and I am not prepared to do both any more.
A small number of you are hoping to be made admin. soon- impress us with Monthly Changes communication, we will be choosing some people soon!
Salnax has kindly changed the FA and announced the May theme in advance. We still need to announce a winner for April (ignoring the other months in which little was done)
So far this month I have done at least three 2nd Pix for the 1pix project - if no-one can be bothered to beat me, I claim April!
