Triothy Day

Triothy is a red Yoshi with a top hat and a blue shirt with the number 3 on it.

The 'Artist News' section on the front page of Newgrounds was flooded by Triothy Day posts from August 15th to August 16th

Triothy Day was an unofficial day that was celebrated on August 15th, 2021: running parallel to Clock Day of that year. It was dedicated to the Newgrounds user AtreyuGilbert, who's character "Triothy" appeared in a now cancelled web-series called Wackyverse.

Submissions

Users primarily showed their support by submitting a piece of fanart to the Art Portal, then linking it in a post titled HAPPY TRIOTHY DAY!!!:) to get it on the front page. Most of these submissions would end up compiled into a movie titled Happy Triothy Day, which would win Daily 2nd the following day.

Reception

Triothy Day as a event was heavily panned by users, for being a crude and unfunny joke, pandering to a person hardly anyone knew about. It was mostly criticized by the general user base of Newgrounds, which was not familiar with Atreyu, for trying to overshadow the 20th anniversary of Clock Day and for disrespecting the Clock Crew. In fact, the Happy Triothy Day movie directly ridicules the Clock Crew.

According to some users, the day was done on first place as a celebration of Atreyu's birthday, which was debunked as Atreyu had elaborated before that his birthday is actually on June 11th and not on Triothy Day. He just woke up to everything happening as it did and was surprised when seeing it for the first time.

Despite this, it was celebrated by popular users such as LobsterMango, Joe-Mega, RGPAnims, Tiltro, Octo, and ninjamuffin99, the creator of the popular game Friday Night Funkin'. Taylor was probably the main factor on Triothy Day's spread around Newgrounds, as at that point, FNF was on it's peak and he was the most followed user, with over 100K followers. It was also seen as funny by newer users.
