Super Mario Rampage! is a Run n' Gun game based on the Mario series. It features the popular video game character Mario shooting at endless hordes of enemies with a gun.
Gameplay[]
Mario automatically walks from left to right, encountering a number of flying and ground based enemies along the way. Players can aim up and down, and fire his gun by holding down the spacebar. Mario can kill enemies with one shot, and he can even kill multiple enemies at once depending on the bullet's path, but any enemies on the ground missed by the player will kill him on contact, making ground-based enemies a priority. The number of enemies killed is recorded, as well as the total score. After dying, the player can submit their score.

Super Mario Rampage! uses sprites and sounds from Super Mario World. The background music is by the group Mr. Bungle, a band known for working in a variety of genres.
Reception[]
Although Super Mario Rampage! has won no major awards, it has accumulated over 2.3 million views as of May 2012. It is featured in the Flash Portal History and Mario collections and has an average review rating of 8.2/10. This means that its popularity rivals BurstStudio's other major contribution to Newgrounds, the famous Kitten Cannon!, which is largely considered responsible for popularizing the Launch genre on Newgrounds, recognized as the older classic version of Toss the Turtle and other famous cannon launching games.
