Piconjo, the "god of teh pr0tal", was a well known user and character on Newgrounds. He has submitted well over 200 flash animations, many of a low quality, as well as seven audio submissions. Most notable is the "Wadolf Saga," in which he depicts Newgrounds as a fascist nation ruled by a Hitleresque Wade Fulp. He was something of a rebel, and has often criticized Newgrounds and other users, including LegendaryFrog, illwillpress, and David Firth. However, there are a few, such as LiveCorpse, who have been paid tribute to in several flashes. He also seems to be a fan of Square Enix, which he makes frequent references to. He has also made references to Pixar, which he claims to work for.
Although Piconjo was famous in a way, with 248 Flash submissions in his name, relatively few of his movies have won awards. He has won a total of six awards, including Daily Second Place, Underdog, Turd of the Week, and Review Crew Pick. He also has seven audio submissions, which fell into a variety of genres.
He had been mostly inactive since 2005, and only submitted seventeen flash movies (all of them collaborated) before his return in 2021. In PICONJO CONFESSION XI, he announced that he had a kidney disease, and might die soon. In a BBS post from from June 6, 2005, Piconjo stated that he would be getting a double kidney transplant. [1] According to one film he supposedly collaborated on, "Rest in Peace Piconjo," he died on July 12, 2005, after a failed kidney operation.[2] In the comment section of this submission it's claimed by the collab partner that Piconjo was never a real person.
Many users see Piconjo as nothing more than a shared account used to troll other users for many reasons, some examples are the variety of quality for his submissions and amount of collaborations he manages to get in with other creators.
It was claimed by Girkinman, a friend of LegendaryFrog, in 2021 that Piconjo was a targeted trolling attack against popular users at the time due to their use of tweened animations[3].
Considering the date of his "death" coincided with his join date and attaining several awards on submissions, it's likely that the persona of the account was killed off as a stunt. Despite 'dying' on the 12th of July in 2005 Piconjo's final upload (before his return in 2021) was on August 19th, 2008.
Piconjo made a sudden return to Newgrounds on May 1st, 2021 (Pico Day) in a BBS discussion created about him by user FuzzyFoe, and claimed he had been "trapped in teh gh3ytrix for 1337 y3arz fighting an endlezz army of gh3y toadi3s"[sic].
Upon his return, he began to upload new content, amongst them 7 art submissions and a few collaborations.
Some were skeptical about this return, with some speculating the account had been acquired by a hacker, though others embraced Piconjo's return.
It is possible that this return was prompted by a submission called "Piconjo: Teh 6aym" by ProsciuttoMan whose soundtrack had been released as a part of Pico Day 2021. According to ProsciuttoMan, he was messaged by Piconjo directly about Piconjo: Teh 6aym[4].
The Fictional Character
The avatar of Piconjo vaguely resembles the iconic Pico, although it is jokingly suggested that he is a ripoff of him, when in fact, it's vice versa. He is tall and pale skinned, has red hair and has simple white eyes like him, but in certain cases they are red. He is also known for wearing purple, carrying a large sword and having an extremely large penis. In several animations, he is drawn in the style of Final Fantasy protagonists, with fairly realistic features and spiky hair. There was speculation that he is an older version of Pico. The character also appears in many flashes not produced by Piconjo, most notably Newgrounds Rumble, in which he is referred to as the "Dark side of Newgrounds." However, he has also been revealed to have a softer side, as revealed in movies such as "Piconjo's Sorrow." Piconjo also seems to have a connection to Livecorpse, deceased user on Newgrounds. In Piconjo Besitzen Sie DVD, a wounded Piconjo is visited by a dead Livecorpse and is told that he still has work to do. In another flash, Livecorpse Tribute, Piconjo takes the role of Livecorpse in his last few hours of life.
