Author's comments:
Full title: God Damn it's a Nice Fucking Day Today

One man learns the true meaning of friendship. Better than anything else you'll watch today. This is an "interactive movie", meaning that at the end it turns into a game! Isn't that fantastic?

UPDATES: Front page! Daily feature! Top 50 for some reason! This game now has a medal!

Also, I've included a credit for PRguitarman in the loading screen. He did a comic a few years ago which is pretty much the exact same is this, except it ends when the guy goes on the computer and involves a lot less penis. I feel bad about it, but he seemed to really like this movie, SO WHATEVER LET'S JUST RUN WITH IT. Props also to Deadclever32, who helped out with trig because I was too tired/lazy/stupid/tipsy to think about it myself.

And as always, thanks for all your support ladies and gents. -scott

It's a Nice Day Today is a flash game by scottmale24. It mocks the seemingly agrophobic activities of many internet users.

Design

It's a Nice Day Today starts with a cutscene showing an anthromorporized sun smiling upon an average neighborhood. One person looks out his window, and then promptly closes it. He then procedes to turn on his computer and begins to masturbate in the dark. The sun is furious about this, and goes on a rampage. At this point, the game begins. The player moves the sun around with the arrow keys and shoots fire from its eyes with the spacebar. This fire can destroy the houses the sun flies over and burn the fleeing inhabitants as well. Eventually, a message will show up on the screen encouraging the player to go outside. If the player still continues to play, they will earn a medal called "FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE."

It's A Nice Day Today

Sometimes, a game will not be very subtle.

It's a Nice Day Today has a simple art style reminescent of a picture book. A fairly nice and sweet, even childish setting for the movie. The humans are stick figures and the objects are simpley shaped. One notable aspect of the graphics is the background, which changes from entirely blue to orange and black depending on how high the sun is. Along with various sound effects, two songs from the Audio Portal are also used.

Reception

Despite its simple premise, It's a Nice Day Today was a critical hit on Newgrounds, quickly getting onto the front page. As of August 2010, it has over 300,000 views and an average review of 9.5/10. Furthermore, it won both the Daily Feature and Weekly Users' Choice awards and was temporarily one of the top 50 rated Flash submissions of all time. However, it is not featured in any collections.
