A look into the mind of scheming Bowser Koopa... Because ignorance is bliss.
During the 90's Nintendo released an album called "White Knuckle Scorin" on it was this song. I animated it, even re-creating the small comic that was included with the cd which is sort of an introduction to this song. Now would be a good time to mention that I do all my animations with a mouse. Yes I use it as an excuse to do badly because its true. Also every time I post a link to the lyrics the format keeps messing up so I'll just post them here! Ignorance is Bliss by Jellyfish (2006 original description, not counting lyrics) HOW TO GET THE SONG: Shove a stick of dynamite up your ass. (updated description) | |
Note | This information only refers to the official release on the Flash Portal. |
Ignorance Is Bliss was a flash animation by Bug, previously known as BigArmyBug. It is a music video to the Jellyfish song of the same name.
It was deleted by Bug sometime after 2012.
Lyrics[]
Wake up!
Miss Toadstool, it is I, your one and only king: Bowser Koopa.
I'm a turtle as you see
A little slow and a little green
But on the whole I'd say, super-duper.
Princess Toadstool, I know you're frightened
If you knew just why you're here, your fear would just be heightened.
So let's just say: Ignorance is bliss.
Oh, while I hate to be a bummer
I've brought you here to bring me plumbers, you know those brothers
Oh what's their names?
Oh yes, Mario and Luigi, just the sound of them makes me queasy,
I'd love to take that monkey wrench, I'd play my own game...
Princess Toadstool, you're so misguided
I've never been fond of bookworms but then again this one does make good Mario bait
Oh I can't wait.
Ignorance is bliss.
With my magic book I'll shower
Those clumsy lizards with my power
Until Dinosaur Land is nothing but fossil fuel.
My only problem with these spells
Is that I know not what they tell
So every hex leaves me perplexed and all I want are those plumbing fools.
Princess Toadstool, you're not so clever, all your words are alphabet soup,
A picture tells it better.
I'll say it again: Ignorance is bliss.
Haven't you heard? A picture is worth a thousand words.
You call yourself a Princess, but you're a braniac in a dress.
I can't believe you waste time with these books!
You remind me of my kid sister
She read so much she got a blister
A big one, I mean BIG, on her brain - what a shnook!
I'd like to get my hands...
Just one time with a monkey wrench...
I'll fix their plumbing!
Princess Toadstool, I know you're frightened (so misguided)
If you knew just why you're here, your fear would just be heightened.
Princess Toadstool, you're not so clever (say it better)
All your words are alphabet soup, a picture tells it better.
For the last time:
On second thought I think I've made my point.
Presentation[]
Ignorance Is Bliss serves as a music video to a song of the same name, created by power-pop band Jellyfish for the 1991 compilation album Nintendo: White Knuckle Scorin'. It is the only Mario themed song featured on the album. The animation itself was animated in a cartoony style, featuring thick, crude outlines on the characters and clean lineless backgrounds.
A short introduction, claimed to be part of a comic booklet enclosed in White Knuckle Scorin's CD case, was also animated. Peach was voiced by Rina-chan (then known as Kagome), while Bowser was voiced by fellow animator ZekeySpaceyLizard, who also created the flash's preloader.
Transcript[]
Bowser: And then I'll join OPEC
Peach: You? You make Mario and Luigi look like brain surgeons. You're too ignorant to be an oil tycoon
Bowser: So, I'll take brute force and bad additude over smarts and education any day, because ignorance is bliss!
