Thanks for the front page, guys!

Follow the tale of Sirtom93, the precocious scamp who threatened to burn down his school over the newgrounds forums, then DeckHeadTottie gave the popo a heads up and Sirtom got his ass handed to him by the police.

Not familiar with the incident? Rig has graciously covered every step of it for you. http://rig.newgrounds.com /news/post/281646

How I Buy Petrol? is a Flash game by scottmale24. It is a largely fantastical record of the Sirtom Incident.

Story[]

One day, for no apparent reason, Sirtom93 has decided to burn his school down. In order to do so, he must run around his house and neighborhood to gather the supplies he needs. Apparently, he's already decided that he is going to post his plan on the BBS well in advance. After getting his petrol and posting his threat on the BBS, he takes the petrol to school on the bus. Alas, while he's in class drawing penises, Sirtom93 gets caught by the police.

Design[]

How I Buy Petrol? is a linear game that takes place in a small, open world. This means that the player's job is to explore the environment to find out where they need to go and what they need to do. Sometimes, a sharp eye will be needed to find particularly small items. How I Buy Petrol is controlled using the mouse and spacebar. Players click a space on the screen to move there, click an object to identify or to interact with it, and use the space bar to progress through dialogue. In order to go into a new area, players must click the very edge of a door or the screen.

Presentation[]

How I Buy Petrol

How I Buy Petrol uses a simple style to mock Sirtom93.

How I Buy Petrol? uses a simple, monochrome style in order to exaggerate and poke fun the Sirtom Incident. When identifying objects, Sirtom often makes a remark that portrays him as an unintelligent individual, such as an occasional penis joke. Along with a variety of sound effects, the game also includes songs by Loopmaster and Rucklo.

Reception[]

How I Buy Petrol?, which was submitted just a few days after the Sirtom Incident, only won the Daily Fifth award, and as of January 2012, only has about 100,000 views. However, the game is featured in the Flash Portal History collection, and is probably the most popular Sirtom-inspired submission on Newgrounds. The review is 8.9/10, a fairly high score for a game that received no major awards.
