Graeme is an author who is known for several Flash animations, collabs, and games, including Goat Trip, Goat 51, Did You Hear That?, Pirate Launch, and Return to Riddle School. He is also the creator/manager of 2 Left Thumbs, a YouTube variety channel and indie game publisher which is known for publishing numerous newer Newgrounds games on Steam.
Name history[]
Graeme originally signed up in 2006 as Blaze28 at the age of 14. This account was abandoned, and he created his current account in 2007, which was previously known as Goat-Man and Noodle until 2022.
Author[]
As of February 2021, Graeme has 66 flash movies and games through judgement (50 movies and 16 games). Graeme frequently took part in short-length Flash animation jams, with 16 of his 50 movie submissions being Collabs, 3 of which he hosted himself (the Did You Hear That series).
He has won 26 awards for his work, 13 of which are for non-collabs (9 movie awards, and 4 for games).
His "Goat" series is his most well received solo work, while the "Did You Hear That?" collab series received relative acclaim. Pirate Launch was his most successful original game, although this was surpassed by his Riddle School 1 fan remake, Return to Riddle School.
Beyond Newgrounds[]
TWoNG[]
Graeme hosted a weekly YouTube series back in 2016 on his YouTube channel (2 Left Thumbs), "This Week on Newgrounds", with the series eventually being hosted on the official Newgrounds channel instead. These videos were unlisted after the series became too much work to sustain. These weekly videos ran for 4 months, and attempted to highlight pertinent news on the site, the top submissions of Week, as well as featured music and artwork.
The Tank Tribune started as weekly News posts covering weekly highlights on Newgrounds in 2020, and cited TWoNG as the inspiration for their newsletter in Issue No. 20.
Flashlight[]
Despite primarily creating content for YouTube these days, including video game reviews, easter egg hunting, and other pop culture topics - Newgrounds and Flash creation have remained a prominent part of his identity as a creator. Most notably, the "Flashlight" series started in 2017, which works to document the history of the most prominent Flash games series, creators, animations, websites, and any other Flash related topic. Over time, the series was expanded to include developer interviews, allowing much deeper more personal looks at how these series game to be.
In 2020 Graeme began his work to update some of the original videos that lacked developer interviews, and that he felt "only scratched the surface". Notably installments in the series include coverage of Flash Game Preservation, Riddle School, Henry Stickmin, Super Flash Bros, and SoulGame Studios.
Game Publishing[]
Starting in 2021, 2 Left Thumbs is also a indie game publisher, working with several Newgrounds game developers to publish games on Steam. Graeme describes 2LT as a "micro-publisher", in other words, it has limited funding, but can still provide feedback, a wide reach of marketing, and creative freedom.
As of Jan 2024, 2 Left Thumbs has published 8 games and is planning to publish at least 11 more in 2024. These include full or updated versions of Dead Estate, Alice is Dead, William and Sly, and the The Fancy Pants Adventures, in addition to new games such as Repella Fella
Graeme also organized art contests on Newgrounds based on these games. (examples: William and Sly, Paper Planet)
