| This has been in the works for a while. Brentalfloss (of youtube fame) and I collaborated on this after he gave me a rough demo of the song.
Traditional and digital techniques combine in "Dr. Mario with Lyrics" to bring you the tale of a manic plumber turned manic medic... I mean Dr. Mario. Those of you who never wanted to see Wario's grizzled ass and Mario's nipples should avert your collective gaze at the appropriate times. Enjoy! Link from the Zelda series makes a brief cameo.
Dr. Mario with Lyrics was originally a song by Brentalfloss, a popular uploader of videos to YouTube. His movies usually feature classical video game music combined with lyrics sung by him. For this video, he collaborated with DarqV, who had already made a video, Chrono Trigger: Musical, based on his music. Dr. Mario with Lyrics turned out to be a much better received video though. The movie's graphics are cartoonish, much like the Mario franchise that is parodied.
Reception
Dr. Mario with Lyrics has a hit on Newgrounds, and was DarqV's greatest hit yet. As of May 2010, it has had over 650,000 views, as well as an average review of 9.8/10. It is also featured in the Flash Portal History Collection. Brentalfloss, who uploaded the video to his YouTube account, received over a million views. [1]
