Doobus-Goobus is an animator on Newgrounds and YouTube. He is most well-known for creating the Friday Night Hunkin series, a parody of the videogame Friday Night Funkin'.
His animations are primarily hosted on YouTube and Twitter, with them being uploaded to Newgrounds during 2021 and 2022.
Style[]
By his own admission, Doobus-Goobus is not a skilled animator: He addresses himself on his Newgrounds description as a "Barely cartoonist" and keeps the Blank Slate aura. He prefers to focus primarily on comedic writing and voice acting, viewing animation largely as an afterthought meant to enhance comedy. His animations often are satiric and contain cartoony, overly-exaggerated designs, without much movement.

Doobus is most well known for Friday Night Hunkin': a series of parodic Friday Night Funkin' animations in which all the characters have cartoony, overly-exaggerated designs. Hunkin' spans eight episodes: one for each week of the original game and one which pokes fun at certain characters from community mods. It is Doobus's most popular series: winning several Daily and Weekly award and even got its own Collection.
Other of his most popular movies include parodies of movies, videogames and TV shows, such as The Joker's Prank, Cloud's buddy Sephiroth and "boy, I say boy, this anime stuff is garbage!" which have won smaller awards, but have a high count of views.
Reception[]
As of February 24, 2024, counting collabs, every movie that Doobus has published has won an award, giving him 30 trophies at his name. This includes 2 Weekly Users' Choices, 8 Daily Features, and 1 Review Crew Pick. He has also notability outside Newgrounds: The first Friday Night Hunkin' video has 14M views on YouTube, and most of his videos having over 1 million views.
In the other side, Doobus is also criticized for the low quality and short production time of his animations and the parodic nature of his content, which many argue "stole" the frontpage from more deserving original submissions. His response to critique was arguing that Newgrounds' slogan "everything by everyone" justified the low quality of many of his works when compared to other frontpaged submissions. He has been parodied by ProscituttoMan on his award-winning movie, Goobee's Lament.
Doobus' fans, however, argue that his animations are funny and that the crude, stiff animation adds to the comedy of his cartoons: believing higher-quality animation to be unnecessary and not worth the time. They argue that Doobus' animations are much more topical and benefit from a shorter production time.
