David Firth is a British animator, cartoonist, writer, and musician known mostly for making the horror-based series Salad Fingers, although has also created series such as Jerry Jackson and Burnt Face Man. He started in Flash and gained prominence on Newgrounds, but since Flash has made a general decline in widespread use, David has transitioned to using Adobe After Effects for his works.
Style[]
Firth's work is often filled with darker imagery and it explores topics of a disturbing or surreal nature, such as behavior reminiscent of mental illness. Some can be described as Dark Humor or Psychological Horror.
Career outside of Newgrounds[]
He has had his work distributed by the BBC on television and once was hired to do commission work for their network.
Firth directed the music video for the Flying Lotus song "Ready Err Not", which premiered on Adult Swim on Halloween night 2014. He and Flying Lotus will work together again for the 2017 feature film Kuso.
