Barbershop Quartet... is a Flash short movie by Explosm. It is a part of his Cyanide and Happiness series.

Plot[]

The Barbershop Quartet is sitting in the back of a taxi at a traffic light while the bus from Waiting for the Bus! passes by. They notice an attractive women passing by on the sidewalk. While the light changes and the taxi starts to move, the quartet starts to hit on her. They pop out the window and sing out "Hey Babe," "What's your name," and "Do you wanna hang out?" Suddenly, the cab driver crashes through the window and exclaims "You got nice tits." Now that the cab is out of control, it drives straight towards a tree, albeit at a sloth-like pace. Just before hitting the tree, the Quartet cries out "Oh Shiiiiiiiiit!" When the cab hits the tree, the cab driver falls out.

Presentation[]

Barbershop Quartet

The Quartet actually sings.

Barbershop Quartet looks and sounds similar to other entries in the Cyanide and Happiness series. Characters are only somewhat more complicated than stick figures, although objects and backgrounds are drawn with a fair level of detail. There are a number of sound effects, but the most noticeable part of the Presentation is the Quartet's singing, which was voiced by Chris Arnold.

Reception[]

Like Pigeon! before it, Barbershop Quartet... was very popular on Newgrounds despite its simplicity and brevity. It won all three major awards: the Daily Feature, the Weekly Users' Choice Award, and the Review Crew Pick. It was also voted the third best movie of February 2010, losing only to another of Explosm's submissions, The Man Who Could Sit..., and WTFuture. As of August 2010, it has over half a million views and an average review of 9.7/10.
